Northfield, IL Dentist

Meet Our Doctor

Phillip Moorad, DDS

Over the past two decades, I have learned to be proficient in providing gentle dental practices in all aspects of family dentistry. I specialize in creating beautiful smiles with cutting-edge cosmetic dentistry. I understand that in looking for a Northshore dentist, you want a dentist who will listen to precisely what you would like to accomplish with your cosmetic dental procedure while still maintaining the function and health of your dentition.

In 1992, I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in zoology. I stayed in the area and went on to receive my Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors from Oklahoma University College of Dentistry in 1996.

After graduating from dental school, I moved to sunny Arizona, where I practiced as an associate before deciding to open my own unique green dental practice in 2003. After opening Aesthetic Dental Health in Avondale, I watched it grow and turn into a one-of-a-kind, eco-friendly dental practice. In 2011, I received the Gold Certification from the Eco-Dentistry Association. Only a handful of all dentists in the U.S. have achieved this special distinction.

I am Invisalign® and dental laser certified, and have completed many hours of training and mini-residencies in implant restorations as well. I received a fellowship award in the spring of 2014 from the Academy of General Dentistry.

I enjoy learning the most modern dental procedures by completing more than 700 hours of continuing dental education. I am a graduate of prestigious postgraduate dental learning institutions: the Kois Institute and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Learning.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending most of my free time with my incredible son. I am an avid biker, novice at yoga, and have relished falling in love with this great city.

I hold membership in the following organizations:

  • American Dental Association
  • Illinois State Dental Society
  • Chicago Dental Society
  • Academy of General Dentistry

We recognize that all our patients are unique and deserve to receive dental care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented dental team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding dental experience every time you visit our practice.

Meet Our Team

 Kim, Office Manager

I enthusiastically joined North Dental in May 2018 as the Office Manager for Dr. Moorad and his wonderful team.  I make sure each and every aspect of our office is running smoothly and effortlessly.  We make certain that from the moment you arrive in our parking lot and with every phone call that is received that you are taken care of.  I audit all dental claims to ensure proper codes and fees are used for all products and procedures.

I have a  passion for cooking and entertaining.  I went to college in Hastings Nebraska for Culinary Arts and Hotel and Restaurant Management and have managed numerous well-known restaurants and many large corporations I’m also an independent Pampered Chef Consultant.
I have a wonderful, supportive husband Paul, and three amazing children.   Paul and I have a 5-year-old dog named Bully a Beagle Husky mix.  Our son Alex 26 lives locally near Fox Lake and has his own Construction Renovation business and is engaged to be married next August. Alex and Paulina are proud parents of Olaf a French Bulldog and love to travel around the world in their free time.   Connor, 16,  is an active junior, loves keeping himself busy with outdoor activities, football, lacrosse, or video games, and has a Black German Shepherd puppy, Diamond.  Amanda, 15,  is a vivacious Sophmore and loves to swim, play lacrosse, go to the movies with her friends and enjoys getting her hair and nails done with her Mom.

We are very involved in our community and our church events and activities at St. John Lutheran Church in Libertyville.   I have also became ordained and have performed several weddings.  Paul and I enjoy going to Oktoberfest and Germanfest as well as other concerts and festivals.
My favorite part about working at North Dental is the wonderful family feeling we have for each other from the moment you arrive each and every morning until the moment we leave together at the end of the night.  It’s a true bond that will never be replaced. Priceless.

Mary, Patient Coordinator

I consider it a blessing to be a part of North Dental and the Dynamic Team! We work remarkably well together and get the job done efficiently.

In 1998, I left the Evanston Hospital ICU( after 14 years) to come and work at North Dental (formerly Northview Dental Associates) as a Receptionist. I just celebrated 20 years at the office and it has been a blessing in my life! I had no previous dental experience when I started, and yes, I was afraid of the dentist back then! I work with a professional, knowledgeable, and happy doctor and staff who are excellent at their positions and provide the best care for our amazing patients. It is my joy to be part of this awesome team. We are an office family. I live in Glenview with my husband, Tom, and 2 cats. And yes, I am an Elvis fan as well!

Becky, Registered Dental Hygienist

My favorite part of the job is my patients and my coworkers. I enjoy hearing about their lives, family, travel, etc. My coworkers are also friends and we share fun stories and laughter throughout the day. We are professional when we need to be but can still joke and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.

My role includes assessment and preventive care of the oral cavity including taking dental X-rays, plaque and calculus removal, periodontal treatment and maintenance, oral hygiene education, and nutritional counseling.

I started as a dental assistant in 1998.  And then became a Registered Dental Hygienist   I have an associate in Science from the College of Lake County. I graduated in May 2005.  I started here in  April of 2006.

My husband and I have been married since 2011. We have two children together, Patrick and Eleanor. Their big sister Darian is a sweetheart and a great babysitter. Even though she is my stepdaughter, I still consider her my own. We enjoy camping, biking, kayaking, anything outdoors where we can be surrounded by nature.

Sha’myah, Dental Assistant

My job consists of making sure the treatment rooms are prepared for the desired patients. I also make sure the patient is comfortable by answering any questions they have and giving them reassurance.

I began working with this office in 2015.

I attended Novera Dental located 3332 N. Western Ave Chicago IL

My favorite part of the job is building relationships with the patients and being able to take their minds off what they initially came in for. I love seeing the smile on their faces when we finish with the procedure knowing they’re truly satisfied with the work done.

Although we all have our specific job duties, I love the fact that we are all able to help each other out when needed. We are like a family and it makes coming to work enjoyable. The Doctor is extremely knowledgeable and I love how he not only explains things to the patients but he explains things to us as well. I am growing and learning every day and that’s what I love most about working with my North Dental team.

I was raised in Evanston with my mom dad and older brother. I attended Kinsley elementary school, Haven Middle school, and Evanston High schoolThroughout my younger years, I participated in a lot of volunteer work such as keeping the community cleaned and providing necessities to the homeless. After finishing high school, I then went on to live in Mississippi. Although I loved the southern hospitality and warm weather I decided to move back home for greater opportunities.  It wasn’t until I moved back to Evanston and got involved with pastoral care at church that I realized my passion is helping people. That’s when I decided to go to school for dental assisting. Outside of work I enjoy reading, books of all genres, going to the movies, writing, and singing

Holly, Registered Dental Hygienist

I graduated with honors from Del Mar College Corpus Christi in 2016. Before becoming a hygienist I was a dental assistant for 6 years. While working part-time as an assistant and finishing up my bachelor’s in psychology, I realized my true passion was in the dental field. I applied and was accepted and the rest is history.

What I love about dentistry is it involves artistry and science. Dentistry also gives me the opportunity to connect with people and build relationships. I love being that gentle hygienist, who is welcoming and compassionate.
I moved to Illinois almost 2 years ago and I enjoy all this city has to offer. When I’m not working you will find me spending time with my children, going to a museum, painting abstract art, or playing my guitar.

The environment at North Dental is a blessing.
